What is emotion?
How should emotion be defined?
These are just some of the questions we are trying to answer through our work at Emotions through time: from antiquity to Byzantium (ETT). As we focus on ancient and medieval Greek textual and visual representations of affectivity, we will be looking at linguistic, conceptual and cultural continuities and discontinuities in a series of three workshops and a conference, starting with exploring literary, philosophical and Biblical exegesis in Edinburgh this coming October.
The ETT international research network was launched on 1 April 2016.
